ABOUT SUE KENNEALLY
& SUE FOX

Our unique working collaboration began in 2004 when we were introduced to each other by a mutual friend. We quickly discovered not only did we both have 20yrs+ commercial design experience but also complementary backgrounds in printed textiles, printmaking, graphics and illustration.

Over the past 10 years we have gained a reputation for running high quality, inspirational art and design workshops. These take place in our stunning design studio, a 500 year old dairy in Winchester, Hampshire, and also in venues across the South of England.

If you'd like to know more about our workshops or commission a bespoke design project would love to hear from you.

OUTREACH WORKSHOPS

We have a huge amount of experience working with some of the most disadvantaged groups of young people & adults in our region including : young & adult carers, people with physical, mental and learning disabilities, bereaved children, adopted young people, young people in care, the homeless, ex offenders, NEETS and the Youth Offending Team.

Each project is tailor made to the group we are working with, and designed to encourage participants to express themselves creatively, discover new skills and build their confidence.

We are grateful to the following for supporting our outreach work:
Arts Council England, Heritage Lottery Fund, Comic Relief, Hampshire County Council,
National Trust, Portsmouth City Council, Barclays Bank, Artswork, Hampshire Dance.

'Sue and Sue built solid relationships with the young people showing understanding of these challenging young peoples needs & issues. Were it not for the skills, patience and commitment that Sue & Sue tirelessly demonstrated, there is no doubt that the project would not have been the success that it was'

RS - Fairbridge - Interpret Me - funded by Arts Council England.

'Sue and Sue excelled in their ability to be flexible in order to meet the needs of this diverse group of young people. They offered enthusiasm, skill, and experience and they did this in a quiet, confident and sensitive manner, highly appropriate to the ethos of this hospital school.'

SCHOOLS WORKSHOPS

We offer high quality, innovative and imaginative workshops for schools across the South of England. We welcome any enquiries for half day, one day, one week or longer term tailor made art legacy projects.
We are both passionate advocates of delivering inspiring curriculum based art & design projects which offer the teaching staff and young people, from all key stages, the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques.

We specialise in legacy pieces.

'As part of the National Gallery's 'Take one picture' we commissioned Sue & Sue to create a legacy textile piece with the school. The project was superbly structured by the designers and has been an important part of our curriculum. Every child created a concertina book with line drawings illustrating a journey from their home.

These were instrumental in the design of the exciting 4 metre contemporary textile. Partnership projects give both the school and the artist time to explore ideas in greater depth. This enriches the learning and also inspires the staff and children.

During the project there was a real curiosity and buzz; Sue & Sue's kind, nurturing manner and sense of humour with the children was an absolute pleasure to see.'

'We were delighted to receive our Artsmark GOLD award shortly after the completion of the project! The selection of the piece for display in the National Gallery London was an incredible achievement.'
